Through the course of some testing from her doctors Emmi learns she needs a heart transplant.
Then the heart transplant boy died, and she had no one at the end. I think the fact that this story wasn’t only filled with happy endings brings the sense of how real and serious this issue really is. The former soccer star is now barely able to walk mauref feet without becoming muarer.

I must admit that the ending is a sad one, but it was truly touching and it brought some tears to my eyes. Emmi is a well balanced character at the start, having some teenage moments bu A refreshing and new premise for YA but a tragically real situation for some, Change of Heart throws into question the value of life as a teenager. It teaches you to appreciate all the little things in life, and appreciate everything you have in it. Change of Heart is an interesting story.
It was nice to have a small reality check in between all my fantasy novels. From Emmi to the minor characters like the doctors and nurses, I liked how each one was individually portrayed. When she finds out that her life is about to take a drastic turn for the worse she handles it like many of us probably would; with grief and anger and frustration.

Though I did not care for the way Emmi treated her mother, that aspect of her character showed very well how most teenagers act irrationally. Though Emmi was a bit of an annoying character she treated her parents horribly, and was selfishsome of her flaws made her seem very realistic, and I liked seeing her finally put the pieces of her life back together.
Her family rallies around, but shes betrayed by her boyfriend and BFF when a crisis sends her to the hospital. The main character, Emmi, is a seemingly healthy teenager. But when she falls sick and the infection infiltrates her heart, things change.

She is facing heart failure and will need a transplant—a heavy issue to think about at a young age when she has so many things to look forward to. When tragedy strikes close to home, Emmi must rely even more on her inner strength in order to carry on. I’ve got my tissues on hand and I’m ready for more. I would definitely recommend this book in a heartbeat! Abe adds another element, a teenage boy who has already had a heart transplant.
She doesn’t know what’s going to happen if she can’t find a heart to replace hers. You never know when your whole life can change. I think is a great book, it definitely teaches you something. She does have her best friend, Becca and boyfriend, Sam by her side through the ordeal and she meets Abe, a fellow transplant survivor and one of the few people that she can share her true fears and feelings to.
Without a question, this was an engaging read.
Big events can drastically change a person and Maurer has portrayed that fantastically. This book is young adult fiction; it is very dramatic and suspenseful.
